Background

The client is a leading spirits business across Central & Eastern Europe, with a heritage dating back more than 100 years. The business has over 45 brands, exporting internationally to more than 50 countries worldwide.

Headquartered in the UK, the group employs 980 people in offices across Europe, including Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Croatia.

ITSD started providing IT services to the Group in 2012 and has developed a close working partnership, with service provision extending across all of the group’s locations.

The UK Office Support Challenge

ITSD were initially contracted to provide IT support to the UK head office, base for the board of directors, the senior management team and their support staff. At this time, the team were frustrated by the in-house back-office infrastructure of servers and network equipment, which had a number of issues and an unacceptably high level of server downtime.

The Solution

Although significant investment had been made in equipment and technologies in the past, it was not working properly and loss of IT services was regular. ITSD set up rectifying these issues, starting with a complete re-cabling of the network infrastructure which cured a number of networking issues. Poor configurations on a number of servers were also repaired and upgrades made to some of the older servers and networking equipment. Remote access systems and office Wi-Fi were replaced with more appropriate, more reliable technology.

This dramatically improved availability, reliability and significantly reduced downtime.

The Results

The availability of the IT services improved greatly, freeing up the UK office to get on with their activities and combined with our VIP user support, this meant users’ frustration with IT drastically reduced too.
